George Washington Cass circa 1909
     George Washington Cass was born on 19 February 1836 at Wellsburg, Ohio; also reported as Canada. He was the son of James Milton Cass and Mary Taplin. George Washington Cass married Margaret Jane Beaver in 1859. George Washington Cass died on 5 February 1912 at Richland, Wisconsin, at age 75. He was buried after 5 February 1912 at Willow Valley Cemetery, Ithaca, Richland, Wisconsin.

     George W Cass, son of James M and Mary (Taplin) Cass, was born in Ohio, Feb. 19, 1836, and was fifteen years old when his parents settled in Richland county. He was married in 1859 to Margaret J Beaver, daughter of Christian and Catharine Beaver, and a native of Mifflin Co., Penn. He then went to Spring Green and purchased a farm, lived there one year, after which he returned to this county, and settled in the valley of Little Willow, on section 7, land that he had bought in 1856. It was then in its natural state, mostly covered with brush. He now has 120 acres of the 160 under cultivation; has erected good frame buildings and has altogether a pleasant home. Mr. and Mrs. Cass are the parents of six children --- Mary, Charles, Jennie, Frank, Nellie and Lucy. Jennie died March 7, 1883, of diptheria.1 He was listed in James Milton Cass's household on the 1850 Census at Honey Creek, Sauk, Wisconsin; also living with them were Elizabeth, Edwin, and Addison Hungerford, as well as clergyman Edward Roberts.2 George Washington Cass was listed as the head of a family on the 1870 Census at Ithaca, Richland, Wisconsin.3 He was listed as the head of a family on the 1880 Census at Ithaca, Richland, Wisconsin.4 He was listed as the head of a family on the 1900 Census at Spring Green, Sauk, Wisconsin; living next door to Frank Cass.5 He was listed as the head of a family on the 1910 Census at Spring Green, Sauk, Wisconsin; living next door to Walter T.      Chester Roy Newbold was born on 6 September 1917 at Beresford, South Dakota. He was the son of Roy Bethal Newbold and Bessie Pearl Henry. Chester Roy Newbold married Deloris Eileen Sheets, daughter of Orpha Roldo Sheets and Anna Pearl (?), circa 1930. Chester Roy Newbold died on 7 August 2004 at age 86; Chester Roy Newbold, who was born in Beresford, S.D., on Sept. 6, 1917, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2004. His death was brought on by complications with an aortic aneurysm.
A man of deep faith and loyalty to his local church, Chester was one of the youngest to achieve the position of Railroad Conductor, a profession that spanned 33 years of loyal service with the Nickel Plate and, later, Norfolk and Western railroads out of Frankfort, Ind.
As well as being a lifelong member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, Chester also was a long-standing member of the Masonic Lodge, achieving the 32nd degree.
His greatest joy and unsurpassed pride was in the family that he and his wife, Deloris, loved and raised throughout the nearly 65 years of marriage.
Chester and Deloris lived most of their lives in Frankfort, and later, Jefferson, Ind. They resided in retirement in both Logansport and Gulfport, Miss., before moving to Wake Forest, N.C. in 1996.
He is survived by his cherished wife and their four children, son David and his wife, Elaine, Arvada, Colo; his daughter Pamela and her husband, Rick Brewer, Noblesville; son Tim and his wife, Chris, Bunn, N.C; and son Mark and his wife, Cindy, Wake Forest, N.C.
Chester also is survived by 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Three sisters, Ethel Boyd, Goldie Lykken and Fern Lykken; and two brothers, Jennings Newbold and Russell Newbold; and one daughter, Sandra, preceded in death.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, in Triangle Bible Church, 2309 Laurelbrook St., Raleigh, N.C. 27604.
Interment will be in Wake Forest Cemetery.
